Sports Designer
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette in Little Rock is seeking a versatile sports designer to join our desk. Consideration will be given to applicants who know their way around a computer, preferably using inDesign. A background in journalism is important, but knowing the difference between a football and a tennis racket is mandatory.
The primary responsibility is to design pages. We pride ourselves on having a versatile staff that works as a team where it is important to work together to make deadline each night.
This is not a hub. This is not designing 30 pages for six papers in one night, although there are some nights where changes will be required for other editions so good time management and multitasking are keen attributes.
The job requires night and weekend work. Working remotely is not an option at this time.
Little Rock is the capital city of Arkansas with a population of nearly 600,000 in the metro area.
