Digital Marketing/Design Coordinator
The design coordinator on our digital marketing team is a pivotal resource for our creative strength. This position is best fit with a supreme, illustrative eye - while also keeping strict attention to detail. Ultimately, this position will drive the design, creation, implementation, and review of key consumer marketing materials for WEHCO’s newspaper properties, including: the award-winning Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and the Chattanooga Times Free Press.
As our design coordinator, you understand the importance of getting it right when communicating with all our visitors: from anonymous guests to current subscribers and others. You thrive when facilitating multiple projects at once, love learning how technology platforms and strategies will leverage your work and can adapt to accept varying challenges as new opportunities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Be hands-on in designing, writing, and copy editing myriad digital marketing assets, including: content paywalls, digital advertisements, social engagements, landing pages, online videos and presentation decks
• Work within your marketing team and external vendors to test the responsiveness of all assets, for all platforms, and report on these metrics to various company stakeholders
• Collaborate with our local newspaper markets and assist in identifying methods that increase digital interaction and decrease subscription churn
• Work with both internal and external teams to understand our business’s objectives and create effective marketing collateral that helps to achieve them
• Master the portfolio of digital tools available to you and proactively offer suggestions of their use that help achieve team, department and company goals
• Contribute to keeping our marketing assets fresh and aligned with the specific needs and event calendars for all our local newspaper markets
• Proactively maintain and/or construct new documentation for our subscription marketing touch points and consumer journeys
• Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Preferred consideration given to experience in creative design, digital media or having held a position in a consumer subscription environment
• General familiarity with website infrastructure HTML, CSS and building techniques
• Expertise with popularized digital design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Express, etc), Canva, BEE Pro
• Familiarity with web platforms such as DSPs, Ad Servers, DMPs, CDPs and ESPs
• Proficient in working with Microsoft Office
• Naturally inclined to keep pace with the current trends and best practices within online marketing and campaign measurement
• Problem-solve naturally and perform at a high-level, both independently and as part of a larger team
• Strong time management skills with the ability to organize and prioritize to meet tight deadlines
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent coursework and related experience is required. Degrees in communication, advertising, public relations, marketing, or related field are preferred.
