Summary of Job Duties:
The Grants Compliance Analyst is responsible for providing administrative, financial, and budgetary support to the Criminal Justice Institute. Areas of responsibility include grants financial management, financial reporting, maintenance of master grant files, journal entries, invoicing, and backup responsibilities for Finance and Administration.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements upon approval of the Director of the Criminal Justice Institute.
1. Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or a similar field or significant related accounting experience.
2. Possess a minimum of three years experience in the management of grant compliance and accounting activities.
3. Experience with state and federal grant quarterly financial reporting and monthly invoicing.

1. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles to include federal grant accounting policies and procedures.
2. Ability to interpret and apply the provisions of law, rule, or policy to specific situations.
3. Ability to analyze data and prepare financial reports.
4. Knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems and methods.
5. Ability to provide guidance and technical assistance to agency/institution management and staff concerning grant program requirements.
6. Ability to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of accounting systems and controls, identify problems, and devise corrective actions.
7. Ability to develop, implement, and maintain manual or computerized accounting systems.
8. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
9. Ability to use, and working knowledge of, computers, telephone systems, copiers, fax machines and other office equipment.
