Library IT Assistant (Part-time)
Position Summary:
The Library IT Assistant is a part-time position at the UA Little Rock Ottenheimer Library that is responsible for end user support and assisting the IT Coordinator with the technical operations of the Library, and includes some clerical duties. It requires working a daily a 4 to 6 hours shift that may sometimes be outside of normal business hours. The salary is $20.00 per hour up to 24 hours per week. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to users both virtually and in person in a responsive, customer service-focused manner.
- Coordinate as necessary with the service desk operation within IT Services.
- Under the direction of the IT Coordinator, perform systems management for technology, including setups, configurations, repairs, deployments, software updates, patch management, and inventories.
- Consult with users on a variety of technology issues, including new equipment purchases, software options, and other solutions.
- Report on status, success, problems, and outages in a professional and timely manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) or more years of relevant experience.
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization
- Experience with Windows Server administration, systems management and automation, scripting, database administration, and archival/library applications.
