Overview
The HVAC Controls Technician (Controls Technician) is responsible for the maintenance and modification of HVAC/R equipment and Building Automation System (BAS) related to the operation of HVAC equipment that serve’s the medical, educational, and research facilities on the UAMS Campus. These systems are vital to the safety, comfort, and general wellbeing of patients, students and employees. This position is also responsible for assisting with all problems and/or emergencies relating to facility issues on the UAMS Campus.

Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, install and maintain all components of the “Campus” HVAC/R Controls system. Items included in the HVAC controls system are (but not limited to):
Ice Machines, Freezers, Refrigerators, A/C package units, Air Handlers, Coils, Pneumatic and electronic valves, temperature sensors, controllers, VFD’s, and motors.
May include driving from different jobs sites.
Program campus Building Automation System (BAS) including (but not limited to): modifying and editing (BAS) database.
Performs preventative maintenance inspections and procedures in accordance with the preventative maintenance instructions and applicable codes.
Complete documentation essential for the Engineering & Operations work order system and preventative maintenance program.
Position is declared as essential.
Follows all safety and productivity procedures and protocols.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
HS diploma/GED plus one (1) year of HVAC Control’s experience.
Technical degree in electronics or related may be accepted in lieu experience.
Valid driver’s license with fewer than 12 points on their Motor Vehicle Record.
Computer program proficiency level: Intermediate.
Preferred Qualifications:
6-10 years of HVAC Control's experience.
HVAC Mechanics license in accordance with ACA 17-33-301.
EPA 608 Universal License.
