The North Little Rock Housing Authority is accepting applications for the position of Housing Choice Voucher Program Assistant Manager/VASH Case Counselor. Assistant Manager shall assist the HCVP manager with the overall operation of the program and represent the manager in his/her absence; keep abreast of program changes and recommend adoption in a timely manner.; assist with handling complaints and problem cases, and orient new or prospective landlords to the program; assist with training new staff in their respective duties.
Manages the Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) caseload and is responsible for all facets including: Case management for VASH tenants and owners files from lease-up to termination (including portability); All verifications - income, childcare and support, birth certificates, social security numbers, divorce decree, marriage licenses and calculating rents. Prepare contracts, review leases. Prepare required documents and authorizations for tenants to sign. Send reexamination letters to tenant and landlords monthly. Process rent increase requests and send letters accordingly. Respond to all correspondence from landlords and tenants. Notify owners and tenant of move-out and terminations and secure signatures of tenants on required transfer documents, issue vouchers and send letters to tenants and landlords informing them of the correct information. Inform tenants of responsibility due to move-out charges, evictions or any lease violations. Responsible for posting all mid-month payments, abatements and/or retroactive payments for the HCVP & VASH programs. Creates requisitions for office/cleaning supplies in a timely manner. Process direct deposit requests and/or changes.
Requires a minimum of 2 years work experience in HCVP or other HUD housing programs. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Associate's degree preferred, but not required. Supervisory experience a plus. A valid driver's license is required.
