The North Little Rock Housing Authority strives to enhance housing assistance services through behavior that promotes professionalism, clear communication, and accountability. The Communications /Special Project Coordinator (CSPC) conducts communications and projects related to Housing Choice Voucher/Section 8 Program (HCVP) clients, vendors, and stakeholders. The CSPC will be responsible for receiving and returning communications via mail, email, and phone calls to assist the HCVP staff with program inquiries and resolving complaints. The CSPC will review program documents and forms and recommend updates as necessary; compile records and create reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with policy, procedures, laws and regulations. The CSPC will supervise extra-help and temporary staff hired for special projects. Works independently always exhibiting ethical, and character driven personal and professional behavior. Reports to the executive director.
Position Requirements
Proven knowledge of low-income Public Housing or Housing Choice Voucher/Section 8 Program operations.
Demonstrated ability to independently research, gather, and organize information from individuals, hard copy, and computer files to prepare reports and responses.
Demonstrated skills and ability to independently draft appropriate correspondence/communications in response to initiating source.
Ability to understand government policy, procedures, rules, and regulations and recommend agency revisions when necessary.
Skilled in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel
Minimum Qualifications: The formal education equivalent of bachelor’s degree in business administration, office administration, communications, public relations, or a related field; Preferred: Two (2) years of experience in housing program operations; Housing Choice Voucher Program or Public Housing Program experience. One (1) year of supervisory or demonstrated leadership experience. Minimum one (1) year demonstrated customer service experience required. A combination of job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of the basic requirements except for any listed certification or licensure requirements.
