Description
The Telecommunications Construction Trainee will work directly with the construction crew. Their daily duties will require them to have an adaptive schedule, work in high elevations, use hand tools to install and build HFC plant. As an entry level position, this employee will be responsible for observing and applying entry level activities of the Telecommunications Construction crew.
Requirements
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED
0 to 6 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
MENTAL:
Ability to read, write and speak the English language
Perform basic arithmetic functions
Ability to learn and comprehend all aspects of the cable system operations
Ability to read and correctly interpret electronic meters
PHYSICAL:
See; hear; use both hands and both feet while safely climbing and working from poles and ladders
Ability to use both pick and shovel without constraints
Ability to use basic tools effectively, including saw, hammer, screwdriver, crimper, pliers, etc.
Ability to lift or move up to 100 pounds
The employee’s body weight, fully clothed, wearing shoes or boots and uniform appropriate for the season of the year, must not exceed 280 pounds.
OTHER:
Must have a valid Arkansas Drivers License and have a good driving record
Ability to operate various electronic meters
Ability to effectively communicate with customers and other employees with tact and common courtesy
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to work overtime when required
Must be able to work in all kinds of weather conditions
Must be able to work after-hours “trouble”
Must live within a 30 minute response time of the intersection of Harkrider and Oak Streets in Conway
