The Patrol Officer position in the City of Osceola is responsible for protection of life and property, prevention of crimes, apprehension of criminals and the general enforcement of laws and ordinances. These duties consist of routine patrol, preliminary investigation and traffic regulation but can lead to many other situations in a moments notice. The main responsibility of a patrol officer is to provide a safe environment for citizens and visitors and to answer calls for service ranging from friendly assists to highly stressful and dangerous incidents.

  • Candidates must undergo an extensive hiring process which includes a written examination, a stringent background investigation, psychological evaluation, a structured interview, and a medical examination/drug screening
  • Minimum requirements include: Must be a U.S. citizen; at least 21 years of age; must obtain and maintain a valid Arkansas driver's license and have a good driving record at the time of employment and during tenure of employment; must have a high school diploma or GED; must not have been convicted of any felony or misdemeanor crimes of a violent nature or involving moral turpitude, been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, been placed on diversion, nor have an expunged conviction
