Human Resource Specialist
Description
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform all recruitment tasks such as advertising, job posting, application processing, evaluating/screening job applicants, scheduling, interviewing, and background checks under direct supervision.
Prepare recruitment materials and post jobs to appropriate job boards, colleges, etc. under direct supervision.
Extend employment offers to selected candidates.
Identify and implement efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the industry standards and the needs of the organization.
Collaborate with department managers to review, develop, and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
Assist with development and management of intern program.
Assist with preparation of interview questions under direct supervision.
Coordinate with hiring manager, potential hire, and other human resource staff during the offer process to coordinate start dates and provide any pertinent details necessary to all parties.
Assist with onboarding of new Staff during Orientation.
Maintain recruiting software. Provide analytical and well documented recruiting reports to management as needed.
Act as liaison between Managers and Staff Members.
Provide guidance/assistance to management regarding company policies.
Assist Staff with various benefit issues and/or questions. HR serves as the liaison between Staff and the insurance/401K provider(s).
Perform customer service by responding to Human Resource related issues and inquiries from Staff and Managers.
Assist with development and implementation of policies and procedures including updates and maintenance of HR manuals and forms.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
Handle confidential and sensitive information.
Maintain Staff files and perform filing as needed.
Attend team meetings.
Assist with developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
Record key decisions and action items resulting from meetings or other project-related events.
Assist with event planning and coordination as needed for company-wide events.
Assist with updating Staff information in HR software.
Perform exit interviews with departing Staff Members.
Serve as backup to other team members as needed.
Perform other duties as required and assigned.

Requirements
Qualifications
Minimum
Must have one of the following:
High school diploma or GED and 3 years applicable experience in Human Resources.
Associate degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field and 1 year applicable HR experience.
Must have all the following:
1 year applicable experience in MS Office including, but not limited to Word, Excel, & Outlook.
1 year work experience as a Recruiter (either an in-house recruiter or a staffing agency recruiter)
Hands-on experience with job boards, HR Software, databases, and management systems.
1 year work experience conducting various types of interviews (i.e. phone, video, etc.)
Working knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Communication, or related field.
1 year experience with recruiting software that includes either Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) or Human Resource Management Systems (HRMS).
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Work environment for this position is in an office.
Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
Work days of 9 to 12 hours in length, or more, may occur.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
Must be able to stand for 8 hours as needed. (i.e. career fairs)
Ability to travel as needed
Summary
HR Professional that trains and works under direct supervision to perform recruiting functions within the HR team. This position is responsible for providing effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the organization.
