The Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts (ASMSA), a campus of the University of Arkansas System, invites applications from highly qualified candidates for a 10 month, full-time opening beginning no later than September 1, 2021.
The Head Librarian serves as the chairperson of the school library system by taking responsibility for strategic and operational management of all aspects of the school library to promote strong links between the library and school-wide teaching and learning. The successful candidate is expected to provide leadership in supporting all learning and teaching programs through library resources and programs especially for research, reading, and resource development and maintain positive relationships with all school stakeholders by collaborating and communicating regularly to enhance student success.
Responsibilities specifically include research support for students, interlibrary loan, and an archive of student research.
A Master’s degree in the area of library science and information is required. The ideal candidate must have an understanding of the Library of Congress system, a solid knowledge of online research and Web 2.0 tools, and an enthusiasm for young adult literature.
Candidate must be a US citizen or legal permanent resident.
