The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic data visualization editor. We’re looking for an individual who can take a complex data set and turn it into a compelling visual story for multi-platform use. The person in this role should be skilled at creating both static and interactive infographics, maps, charts, illustrations and databases. The data visualization editor will collaborate with editors, reporters and the web team on both quick-turn stories and long-term projects. This person will actively look for opportunities to use public information for data presentation.
The person in this role must be skilled using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Microsoft Excel; as well as Datawrapper, Caspio, Google Sheets, Google Datastudio, or other digital visual statistical presentation tools and apps.
Job requirements:
EDUCATION: College degree in Art or Graphic Design preferred; High school diploma or GED required.
EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of related data graphic arts experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
