Cancer Information Management Specialist

Arkansas Department of Health Arkansas Central Cancer Registry
Serves as a cancer information management specialist (CIMS) and is responsible for collecting and abstracting cancer data as well as ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the medical record and the abstracted data. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy. Assists with quality assurance tasks related to researched data; develops methods of improving case ascertainment, timeliness, and accurate data collection.
Minimum Qualifications:
The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in public health, public health administration, or a related field; plus, one year of experience in a public health program OR a master's degree in public health, public health administration, or a related field. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB-RELATED EDUCAT ION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
Starting salary: $40,340.00
